1 cup raw rice / basmati rice – Soak it for 30 minutes in plain water.
2 cups of vegetables or greens – You can use any kind of firm vegetables or greens for this dish.
1 medium onion – Sliced
½ inch ginger+ 3 green chilly + 3 garlic – Grind or crush it using mortar-pestle (Chilly and garlic are optional)
Swastiks Biryani Pulav masala
¼ tsp Swastiks turmeric powder
2 to 3 tablespoon oil
Salt as required
Wash and rinse the rice thoroughly.
Heat 2 to 3 tbsp oil in a pressure cooker and add 1/2 cup thinly sliced onions. Once they turn brown add the crushed ginger+garlic+green chilly paste.
Stir and sauté till the raw aroma of ginger and garlic goes away. Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and Swastiks Biryani Pulav masala. Stir well again.
Add the veggies or greens and stir for 5 minutes. Add the soaked rice with water and salt.
Give it 2 whistles if you are using a pressure cooker. Serve it hot with plain curd or raita.
Quick tip - If you have leftover rice or vegetables, you can use the same method. Fry onions with the above ingredients. Pop in Swastiks biryani pulav masala and voila; you have rehashed an ordinary dish into luscious looking pulav.
Garnish it with few sprigs of coriander and cashew nuts and your instant pulav is ready to serve.
